Building Strong Foundations for Your Child's Future: Our Comprehensive Curriculum at Sendera Christian Academy

What We Teach

At Sendera Christian Academy, we are proud of the education the children in our care receive. Lesson plans for each age group are developed to ensure every child is challenged to reach his or her full potential. By teaching our uniquely supplemented Abeka Book curriculum, our students learn to recognize, read and understand letters and numbers. They also develop a sense of responsibility for themselves and their actions and an awareness of the importance to treat those around them with fairness and kindness. Because of the many successes each child celebrates daily, our students develop a high self-esteem, confidence in themselves and independence.

Frog Street

Frog Street is a specially designed children’s curriculum created with young child enrichment in mind. Introduced as early as our infants’ program and gradually phasing out to the Abeka program sometime between age 2 and 3 based on the individual child’s progress and age group, Frog Street provides engaging and interactive professional development programs designed to both motivate and educate. From one-on-one training to large implementations, Frog Street also provides age-specific professional learning and Frog Street curriculum-based training for our teachers, administrators, and coaches.

The Abeka Book Curriculum

Pensacola Christian College in Pensacola, Florida, developed the Abeka Book Curriculum over 30 years ago “to meet the need for quality textbooks written from a Christian perspective”. The phonics-based curriculum is taught in many Christian schools across the country and offers educational products for students 2 years old through 12th grade. Abeka Book provides a detailed scope and sequence for each age group and grade level which clearly defines the academic goals students are working toward. This allows teachers and parents to easily evaluate student progress throughout the year. It uses a teacher-directed classroom approach in which teachers present lessons to the class and students complete assignments to gain a better understanding of those lessons.
